Given everything that's happening in the Bubble, and the massive expansion that Colonia has experienced recently… I feel like there should be another Powerplay Bubble down there.
It wouldn't need to be tied into the Empire/Federation/Alliance one. Totally separate. There are already a host of factions down there, between the Colonia Council, Corporations, etc…
It would be the perfect opportunity for players to re-engage with the Powerplay system, and to give us some additional options/benefits of allegiance. For anyone that doesn't enjoy or connect with the Nobility/Corporatism/Libertarianism/Piracy struggle of the Bubble…
I don't know, maybe I'm alone in this, but I'd like to see something else down here. I love how compact this area is. How easy it is to get around the entire region, and how easy it is to jump off from here onto longer voyages.
But something IS missing. And the fact that it's so small, would mean that powerplay cycles would be able to be more focused. Instead of 1 Power trying to fortify 70 plus systems… you could focus on just a handful. Player contributions would actually have impact, and coordination would be much easier. The power play system in the Bubble is just too huge.
And imagine, if new powers down there could have new modules and new ship lines to unlock like the Imperial and Federal ranks do… ships geared towards exploration, modules for longer neutron jumps, or community goals for opening new systems and building new stations.
Anyway… thats my rant for the day.
