Just a post about red coin advantages, Mushy Truffle, and assimilate as an example.

the witcher and ciri gwent

You are on blue coin against assim – > they drop calveit – > they pass at 7 – > go R2 with 1 card disadvantage, try to bleed his full gold hand – > He keeps 1 card of his choice in hand (artaud, or yenvo if u have big finisher), he has 1 card advantage, he has one of your golds he can play with leader and see your whole hand, he is already 6 points ahead because of Mushy Truffle – > doesn't take a genius to realize you lost the game and that lose was decided the moment game started.

You are on red coin against assim – > just a fair game, better player wins. Too many possible outcomes from that scenario to type it all here. Unlike blue coin.

Now yes assim is broken too but there are other red coin abusers in the game too. I think the real problem is about fundamental rules of gwent, the fact that red coin is incredibly important yet completely up to a 50/50.

Do 5 points (TA) really compensate for 1 card advantage? Is 1 card's worth 5 points? I don't think so. What then do we do buff TA? Again I don't think so, even with a 10 point TA, getting more points with 3 cards + 10 than opponent's 6 cards, is tough. Not a real solution

It's very unsatisfying to lose to that 50/50.

This is one of the things that makes me take long breaks from gwent until a better meta comes in (although meta hasn't changed for last 5 months but). But the root solution isn't in changing cards and meta (like nerfing truffle, double cross, changing calveit etc.), it's in changing gwent the card game.

Yeah that's about it. Just my thoughts. What do you think?
