Noobs, woods, quests and nightvision?

Woods. I thought that customs was bad luck. Factory was meatgrinder.

But after avoiding woods for as long as I could in regards for my main character questlines, I eventually got to the point where it was either (unplayable 8gb ram?) Shoreline-resort or woods… so I went with the woods.

Or atleast sniper bullets went to me. I mean, I get it. It is open map, mostly pvp? Due to general lack of loot in comparison to something like reserve or even customs; but the camping here is over the top, atleast in europe servers. I don't know whether it is due to russians in russian game, or that americans seem to have different playstyle when I try to compare my live experiences from streamers/youtubers as I try to speed up my learning process. All I know, is that I could barelly find jaeger, but now I have to finish
Scavs for prapor and also for jaeger, and without armor. And I keep on dying over and over and over again. Then also add random human factor on top.

So far my measly budget may afford some pso1 AK family, maybe mosin, vpo-215, op-sks pso1 / medium moded sks with scope for woods. The hardest part is not dying, even as I try to walk around map corners, avoiding the action. It doesn't help at all, compared to other maps.

Can some of you give insights on your methods how you managed to quickly do quests, being thrown in new setting during your early game/budget runs/ ???hatch runs??? ?

Was it during the day? Did you prefered the night?

Is NSPU-M worth it, if so? Or is full PNV 10T + willcox skull required?

Also, do people also use thermals/ nightvision on woods as often during the night? Or did your experiences indicated that most campy snipers prefer to play during the day?

Thanks for your insights, and let the discussion on preffered methods begin (and if possible, why you think it was more viable than the alternatives) !
