Disclaimer: The whole "bunnyhopping" thing is amplified this wipe because more people cheesed/exploited their strength skill more than ever. I'm totally against doing that.
Bunnyhopping, long jumping, boost jumping, super jumping, whatever you want to call it, are all the same thing. I think it's really fun to use and do. Personally, I've perfected it and can do it 99% of the time on the first try. It took a long time to be able to do it that consistently, but it doesn't seem to actually have that many benefits. As I disclaimed above, the effectiveness of bunnyhopping is exponentially different depending on your level of strength. With most players being probably around level 8 strength if you play normally, it's going to be about the same as level 1 strength, not much difference at all. When you get to level 51, which many people have this wipe, you can jump realllyyyy far and quickly, but please note that that is a whole different issue.
I think Bunnyhopping is skill-based and increases the skill ceiling for Tarkov. It takes time to learn, it can punish you if you do it incorrectly, it isn't that advantageous, but allows for some interesting jumps and makes the movement system this game has a bit more complex, and to me, it makes it a ton more fun.
I recommend everyone try to learn this skill, I feel as if most people just see it and say "wow that's broken", but they haven't tried it themselves, to see how it actually works and how effective it is (usually it's not that effective lmao).
And yes, I realize it's against the "realism" of the game, I know. Before you realism-addicts go on and on, yes I understand the goal of Tarkov, yes I'm experienced with the game, and yes I love BSG. But I disagree with the idea that this game has to be fully realistic and if every aspect of this game isn't exactly as it is IRL then BSG needs to fix it… This is just a fun mechanic in the game, and I see no reason to complain about it.
