What do you think about the game mechanics in the swamp?

Walheim: how to make delicious mead and what it is for

I think the swamp is so cool as a biome. The draugr, leech, ooze, wraight are all good and a fun jump from the Black Forest. The constant rain makes you think twice about being not-rested/cold and it kinda forces you to use the fermenter (at least in the beginning, lol). The items are clever thought-out: blood bag, intestines, Draugr Fang, etc.

But… I really have one issue. The need for iron in this game is major and the fact that it comes from the swamp feels… so tedious. Finding those crypts which honestly have close-to-zero action in them. Just digging and digging through dirt with mobs you can just shoot behind two shits of mud. Sigh. Am I the only one? I feel the time in the different biomes is perfect – except for the swamp because you need so much iron (construction, armor, weapon, everything basically.) I almost feel there could be a biome between swamp and mountains.

I have completed the game before and I decided to start over with the new release and I have not looked forward to the swamps. Now I am standing in front of it and I'm so close to just log out and get iron from my main character or just command spawn it.

How do you feel about the swamps?
