I was doing missions for “The Dark Wheel” in Shinrarta Dezra. I finished a mission and was on my way back to Jameson when I got interdicted by what I initially thought was an AI trying to stop me from making it back from my mission.

The mission had me kill a “pirate” but the weird thing about it was when I arrived to kill this pirate he didn’t attack me and there were 3 more ships in the instance all 3 were members of the Dark Wheel. It was so strange. One ship was an ASP I think flanked by 2 sidewinders and the ASP sent out a transmission stating he needed help because he was being attacked. Keep in mind none of these ships moved an inch the entire time I was present. So I did what any commander would do and killed the ship labeled wanted as he was the pirate. After that I got the normal message of a mission complete. I examined the remaining ships and they bore no special emblems or markings just labels of “The Dark Wheel”.

Thought it was strange but I left and went home to collect my reward. Like I said I got interdicted and I submitted thinking it was a pirate. I launched my fighter and immediately started taking fire. Looked at my HUD and to my surprise it was a human player so I fought and lost. It was a mamba and I suck at pvp. The strange thing is once I died it never gave me his name. It just said I was killed. Is this a bug or was it part of the Dark Wheel mission testing me with a human player dispatched to kill me to prove I was worthy of the Dark Wheel initiation?

I’m starting to think that had I won that engagement I might have gotten a proper invite to the Dark Wheel.
