Among Us: -CHAOS MODE-

Monotony.

*Over a long enough timeline, everyone develops their own personal 'Sus Rulebook' they slavishly follow, enforce, and ignore.* ~Albert M. Ongus

Insanity.

"Blue hasn't been with us the entire game!" "Red was standing on a vent far away from any task." "Yellow didn't fix oxygen!"

TEDIUM.

The cause is simple: Crewmates can hold perfectly innocent motivations, going about their happy little lives, then be assaulted with enough doubt to meet Mr. Airlock. Imposters are held to such high standards that the slightest detour from crew expectations can send their whole plan awry, even if innocent of the current discussion. The intention of the game, concocting elaborate plans to trick and embarrass your friends, has now become a complicated dance with everyone following the same steps. The solution, in direct relation to the cause, is simple as well: The crewmates must deviate from the program.

With that, I present to you:

AMONG US: CHAOS MODE (LINK TO EASY-TO-READ GOOGLE DOC)

Everyone must roll the dice before starting a round.

Crewmates are given a quirk without disclosing which one

*You cannot allude to, hint at, or in any way convey what your quirk might be or if you have one at all. Any resulting suspicious activity is your responsibility to justify. You may need to get creative…*

Imposters are free to act how they like without restriction

  1. Absent-minded: Have to report bodies if found, cannot discuss anything immediately relevant to said body (ie; location/color/nearby crewmates/etc)
***Chaos variant: Cannot talk or type at all, must report bodies.***
  2. Overheated: Must path over vents within sight. Must also stand on the nearest vent for 7 seconds after finishing your first task, and again after your last task.
  3. Can’t Trust Anyone: Must vote for themselves first two rounds (secret votes enabled)
  4. Not my problem: Won’t fix emergencies until 6 players left (4 if it’s a one imposter game)
  5. Extreme Bias: Can only verbally accuse/question/describe people on the opposite side of the voting screen
  6. Shy tasker: Can’t start tasks if others are watching
  7. Land of the blind: No observation tools – Cams/vitals/etc
  8. A Minor Inconvenience: Can’t fix lights or comms
  9. Hemophobia: Can’t report bodies but can call emergency meetings
  10. Social Distancing: Avoid groups after finishing all tasks – Covid safe ✌
  11. Wild Card (this one subject to change between games at own discretion): Must talk like you’re the best player here and you absolutely fucking know it.
  12. B̵́ͅL̷̛̳O̴͈͊O̵̻̚D̴̙́ ̴̫̽F̵̪͒O̷̭͋R̶̯͑ ̸͕͑Ṭ̴͗H̴̘̓E̴̙͗ ̸̤̏B̸̗̾L̴͓̈O̵̰͆Ó̴̝D̶̳̎ ̸̨̉Ğ̸̢O̶̪̎D̴͔̚: Your thirst for violence is unable to be quenched. Lo, there is no barrier between that of the crewmate or the imposter, only the singular distinction of blood spread across multiple hands as you murder via committee. You must vote for someone every round.

ALL CREWMATES HAVE PATTERNS

ALL PATTERNS CAN BE BROKEN

THERE IS AN IMPOSTER AMONG US

Steady your nerves and roll the dice

P.S. Open to feedback and/or suggestions <3

Bonus wild card suggestions:

  • Cannot use functional grammar
  • Talk as if your issues of self-esteem have you terrified of accusing the wrong person
  • Must talk like Slingblade
  • Must talk as if everyone you've seen is 100% hands-down guilty in your eyes.
  • Must talk as if this is your first time playing any video game ever
  • Must describe colors as if you're a first year art student recently introduced to color theory
