So the idea is to add a chest, that is visually a table to the game. It may be restricted to certain items because it would display its chest content as stuff placed on the table (like i did in the concept screenshot) but without showing stack sizes. Interacting with the table would work as with any chest opening it. Interacting with any items on the table would however either refill an items stack of the same type to full size in your inventory or if none exists take a full stack from the table-chest.
should work the same for potions.
You can also think of it as a multi-item stand with chest functionality combined. So similar concepts could be made available for weapons.
