My First 25 Mil, Newbie Advice

Don't know how good/bad/average that is but I got to about 25 million rubles in less than 100 hours with a 40%+ survival rate, no hatchet runs and really enjoying the game, clutching some experienced chads along the way here and there. Studying Reddit, Youtube guides and all kinds of дерьмо ,this is what I learned.

#1 Learn About Good & Bad Gear ASAP. The quality of your gear (armor, ammo, weapon-attributes such as recoil & ergonomics) make the 2nd biggest difference in your likeliness to survive (1st = skill). The earlier you learn what ammo shreds most armors, the faster you'll learn how to shine in a fight where you're potentially an underdog. If you feel you have lots of "should-be-fatal" hits on your targets and you think you got a good aim in this game early on, this is why you still lose if you ignore ammo quality.

#2 As A Scav, ALWAYS Play High Risk-High Reward. As a Scav I simply don't give a shit and that's why I take out 350k-700k almost every single run that I do, now usually 1-2 million/day approx. What that means is, I do not care if I die and I play exactly like that. Meaning if there's an open field location full of higher geared players that died or raiders, I'll go there and loot them open field, zero fucks given. Best case scenario I make a million, worst case I'll die and try again after that 15 minutes scav cooldown. You have literally nothing to lose and being content with your trash-filled backpack worth 50k won't get you anywhere fast.

#3 Great Timing = Low Risk. As a PMC, the longer you survive the raid, the higher the chance of getting your gear back if you die late. Why? At less than 10 minutes in the game, probably most players have left or died + if you die 3 minutes before the raid's over, chances are slim someone will completely loot you and steal all your insured gear. So, the later you die, the higher your chances of gaining your INSURED (!) stuff back. As as Scav, going into a high-risk scenario late (to loot) also makes much more sense because left-overs and dead players in the remaining last 10 minutes of a raid will have the same outcome. (You won't get anything back if you die but you will have higher chances of being on your own, looting in peace and then safely extracting) Sometimes I run around with a bunch of bullshit (less than 100k in my bag) only to find all the gold uber-late in the game (like 2-5 minutes left) and that will suddenly get this raid up to 500k sometimes.

#4 Do Not Aim Lazy. (Headshots) This one might be obvious but especially with shit gear (Scav for instance), when you land a shot to the face, no matter how expensive that helmet was, it'll be a kill no matter what and can make the difference in any fight IMO to simply aim for the least protected area (which except for maybe helmet-visor would always be the face area). If your aim sucks, your best bet would be to go into offline mode and learn to get used to the recoil and feeling of weapons in this game first because if you die you don't lose anything. A simple basic AK can be your best friend if you know how to treat it.

#5 Map Knowledge = Survival. Any player can beat you if they leverage take their positioning to gain an advantage over you, even if they're low on health, have shitty gear and already seem to be almost dead to you. Learning the ins and out of a map is what'll truly set you apart in close fights. Repositioning, knowing what (and where) to anticipate a player is absolute key.

#6 Observe The Flea Market & Learn Item Values. Depending on how much time you have + how balls deep you wanna dive into Tarkov, it makes sense to let this be your new Pokémon in terms of learning item values like the old gentlemen of us who used to know the ins and outs of 151 Pokémon. Remembering and understanding item value will have you making better decisions on what to keep with you in a raid and what to throw away + most importantly you can buy really underpriced gear and save six figures every week by knowing your 2 go-to armors, helmets, headsets, weapons and so on, because sometimes you can catch an item that's 20%-50% below the actual market price.

#7 Start Using Keys ASAP. So, once you stop drowning in sweat every time you enter a PMC run, it's a good idea to buy some valuable keys to then go and loot the shit out of all the good spawns on your favorite map. It'll make a real difference and can sometimes get you to find items worth 1 mil or 2 mil in a single run. I had a 2 mil + run which was one of my first 10 runs using keys.

There is so much more to say. I don't to intend to write a book tonight so that's it for now ladies and gentlemen. Last but not least I've had almost 2000 hours in PUBG which helped movement- and awareness-wise since it's also a game that has you scouting 360 degrees being paranoid 24/7, so in case you're not familiar with hardcore-survival type of games, turn alot, move alot and trust in your sound. If you "maybe" heard a step, in 90%+ of cases you are correct and will be shot in the face next if you ignore it.
