I know Elite Dangerous has gotten a lot of new players in recent months who are relying on the auto-dock system to get them into and out of stations and settlements. This is not good!
The auto-docking system is a suicide machine, even the advanced model and will likely ram your ship into a space station until it explodes approximately 3 to 5% of the time. That means about once in roughly every 20 to 35 attempts, the auto-dock system will try to kill you. The system is very convenient but do not leave it alone, even for a second!
Consider this when spending lots of credits on expensive ships and upgrades. Invest in yourself too, learn to fly your ship(s), GIT GUD and get off the auto-dock tit. o7
