Hotas does work but im pretty sure its some specific thrustmaster model that may or may not suck
Player factions do have a long and storied history to them. Some good some bad all of it violent. Its up to you to decide who you go with but i think gregory house said it best: certain factions "get to draw this neat little circle. And everyone inside the circle is "normal". Anyone outside the circle should be beaten, broken and reset so that they can be brought into the circle. Failing that, they should be institutionalized. Or worse – Pitied"
Dont just jump into the biggest or the smallest or the so and so industry faction just because its the first one you look at. Friends and fellow commanders can make or break elite for a lot of people.
PVP can be one of the best aspects of elite dangerous BUT it can also be one of the costliest in many aspects. Piloting skill, engineering, resources, knowledge. All of it takes time so dont expect to load up the game, grind for a couple days and be able to fly like the red baron. It can also get very heated. Remember its just a game and dont take it into real life like others have.
Elite can be difficult for some to pick up. The tutorials help but so can rebinding your controls. Elite controllers handle this especially well. Go through all your settings and adjust as you need to.
Ships come in big and small fast and slow tanky and squishy. Its up to YOU to decide what you want to fly, nobody else. Youll have more fun and hey maybe youll discover something that works just for you. Like a certain bi weave pvp conda i know…
This game is grindy as fuck. Sure theres the usual farms and exploits but things in this game can cost BILLIONS when your average income starting out will at most be millions. Sure you can try to rush the game but then youll be flying an expensive ship and not know how to fly it. Doesnt work so well for expensive cars does it?
You can and you will burn out on elite dangerous. Its OK. Plenty of the old players have moved on from elite or play much less than they used to and with good reason. Play something else or whatever till you get the itch again.
