Don't be me!
I was given Elite: Dangerous Horizons by Epic like everyone else a while back, got around to it recently. It's a great game!
If you're also just starting out, one mistake you can make is the launcher. It offers options for
- Elite Dangerous Horizons [4.0],
- Elite Dangerous Horizons,
- Elite Dangerous,
- Elite Dangerous Arena,
- Single Player Combat Training
Now, you're supposed to pick the first one. But, figuring "hey maybe that's a beta or the public test server" I started the game called Elite Dangerous Horizons, selected – y'know – Elite Dangerous Horizons, and began to play.
Big mistake! 4.0 changes what I'd consider to be really important quality-of-life stuff, including allowing you to browse missions by type and a better galaxy map. Use it! Don't be me.
