Before I get into it, I think current recoil control is bad, you read that bit? Can you keep that in your head whilst you read the rest of my shower thoughts? If you can, welll done!
So I keep seeing all these posts about 'recoil bad' and 'Mah PMC is a vet with noodles for arms' and 'Nikita don't know nuffin' ad nauseum. We've had people who say they are gun owner/ex military/pissed gamers saying its nothing like real life and the game needs to be changed.
Well I was thinking, maybe real life recoil doesn't work this way when you are in the correct stance and fully braced, but how often is your PMC standing at a gun range? Maybe this is the games way of trying to simulate carrying 40 kg of gear, running at full sprint for a few hours (time us sped up in game) then suddenly getting into a firefight? You aren't going to be perfectly braced, you aren't going to have full control and you are going to miss shots. You're tired, sweaty and taken by surprise. I don't care how good a battle hardened veteran is, no-one hits every shot like a laser.
Is it currently a good implementation? I don't think so. Personally I'd like your PMC to have waaay better recoil control when moving slow/has taken time to get braced, but this would mean people having to slow down instead of shift W the whole time and Chad's gotta Chad.
I know this isn't going to be a popular opinion, and yes I need to git gud blah blah blah. Personally I couldn't give a rats ass, I'm about done with this wipe already as there's nothing more I fancy doing. Just some food for thought.
