While dabbling in mistlands building (survival, no build mods) I began pondering the situation of building mechanic limitations. Iron gate encourages the creative mode for building, going as far as to showcasing such builds. On the flip side in-game there is a severe limitation on heights and such, so much so that makes me wonder if they are intentionally stifling creativity in survival.
So I am wondering if we who build in survival are doomed to either stifled build capabilities, or switch to creative. I would like to think that there might be a middleground, so that survival builders won't have to choose between the two modes in order to have decent building capabilities. Something as simple as loosening the height restriction to say 2 more pieces from the ground, would open up SO much possibility without removing all restrictions.
I personally enjoying having a limitation, to see how inventive a build can be. But what we have currently is much too restrictive, IMHO. The choice should not be between this stifling and no limitations whatsoever.
