I don't have that much to shell out for actual VR headsets, so I did some research and found this: https://riftcat.com/vridge . Among other titles, Elite Dangerous is featured as one of the main games to work well with this tech. It essentially streams VR-capable images to your smartphone so that you can practically use any smartphone VR "holder", even Google Cardboard, and turn into a cheap entry-level VR device.
Last night I have already played around with it (ordered one of them holders to place your smartphone into), played with the settings and all, and from what I can see at this moment, it does work relatively well considering this being a network streaming technology. In my case, it uses Steam VR as I have ED installed via Steam.
Did anyone of you use this? And if so, what are your experiences?
