I'm sure this has been asked/answered, so apologies that my search skills didn't come across it yet.
When I'm in combat and I'm doing damage to another ship, are the damage numbers output somewhere? Similarly, when I take damage, are the "points" recorded somewhere? When I'm in a wing, I'd like to know the percentage of damage I'm doing, or how much I'm impacting the shields of another ship, etc, outside of visual indicators, even if its after that fact.
I'm looking to inform decisions such as "Boy, I'm not good with beam weapons, let me try out multi-cannons and see if my DPS is better". And sure, that can be done by feel, but its just more fun with data :P.
If there's an argument for, "that takes away from realism", I'd settle for the response of, "my ship is recording a constant health monitor of the other ship and providing some kind of output correlated against my weapons fire", etc.
In short – is there a way to do analytics? I'm seeing people post like http://remlok-industries.fr/focus-the-damages/?lang=en. Is the only way to gather that data to control 2 ships and shoot each other under controlled experiments?
Thanks! o7
