I have tried out pretty much all the different ships for exploration, and I am totally confused with all the hate towards the ASP Scout. No one seems to mention that it has the third greatest maneuverability in the game, and also a class 4 FSD, as well as a class 5 optional slot. I don't think any other ship can do this. I get about 60LY, 430 M/S speed and can turn on a dime. Also room for an AFMU, class 3 shields and SRV. I have been having so much fun exploring planets in this ship.
Am I missing something?
The ASP Scout is the best explorer in the game for me. The main reason being excellent maneuverability and decent speed when fully engineered. This has come down to the defining factor since I spend a lot of time scouting planet surfaces and buzzing canyons in VR for fun. I can also have a SRV, AFMU and decent enough fuel scooping for long range exploration. I love my ASP Scout!
