Honestly, the returning player experience is awful, not to mention NEW player experience. I browsed new card designs and some of them have 8 lines of text, just too much meaningless complexity (complexity is fine to an extent, Gwent was always more on the complex side).
If me, the kind of the player who reached Pro Rank in every season and played Gwent for 10k+ hours doesn't want to play anymore after an hour… well, it doesn't bode well for new players.
Did they give up on the game? It seems like it. It is sad because I feel like Gwent had so much potential, it truly could have been a competitor on the card market, even more so than Runeterra or the recent Marvel Snap. Just many silly mistakes along the way, with some things done right. Oh well. Sadface.
