Hey there guys, new player here, so I was wondering which one is a better item in general: bloodthorn or scythe of vyse.

Bloodthorn pros:

-Has a shorter cooldown

-Has a longer duration

-Much more offensive since it will deal a portion of your damage as extra magical damage

-Has slightly more range (900, compared to scythe which is 800)

-Has a passive: Mage slayer

-Is better in terms of crafting: you can first craft orchid or mage slayer, then get the other one, and finally combine both of them

Scythe of Vyse pros:

-Is cheaper

-Is great against physical carries who rely on right clicks a lot

-Is great againt players who have bkb

-Slows down the target

Personally, I like bloothorn more. Not only it's more edgy (lol) but it has an awesome passive (I love passives). Not to mention some of my favorite heroes, etc enchantress or dark willow, are kinda invulnerable against physical attacks/right clicks. Making enemies deal -35% spell damage is a great defensive option for you and your team. Tho I understand that scythe of vyse is better in some certain scenarios and against certain heroes. Bloothorn can be dispelled easily with a bkb, and is not really effective against some heroes who don't rely on spells very much etc sniper.
