I think people are in denial thinking the ranked system in dota 2 is somehow good. They try to console themselves by saying 'well people who boost won't keep their rank because they didn't improve'.
But the trench is real, and you can lose many games playing your role properly from other people not knowing what certain concepts even are (such as lane pulling/etc).
After debating on giving up the game or to keep playing at 1500 mmr. I decided to boost. I'm at 3k now and guess what? I haven't lost a game yet and I mostly hard carry.
It's amazing the difference that having a teammate in lane who knows what your hero even does or how it plays impacts your performance. I've won 10 games in a row and I've carried all of them.
Honestly boosting works. And that says something about the quality of matchmaking in dota 2. Because it shouldn't work. Yet it does.
If you play like a 3k player in 1k you'll lose. All the time. Because the strategies that work in 3k rely on people knowing what to do. You can't farm safely in 1k because some people don't even know what lane pulling is much less how to do it right.
You all can downvote this all you want but the reviews of boosting don't lie. It really can improve your quality of matches and it speaks to the deepest fear of this sub.
Sometimes, you really don't belong in the mmr you're at and you really will perform better after boosting to a rank that knows how to play with you.
