Cargo from combat is…currently…silly

This might have been discussed before, but I find it a little nutty that there is so little cargo collected from PvE combat. Fighting pirates eventually leads to maybe 1-3 units of <whatever> illicit cargo, and I'm collecting 11 million in bounty credits and 35 cents in cargo. I'm not looking for cargo to be the next big thing, but I never feel like taking out a ship leads to a "Score!"…like catching a Type-9 pirate ship that just looted a base, or someone who should have offloaded before getting greedy.

In short, the current "loot drops" from pirate ships are pretty pitiful. It seems like an easy addition where taking out a heavy wing of pirates creates a pinata explosion of loot that is quickly scooped up by nearby ships. It happens already, but only for a small number of cheap materials. There doesn't seem to be a jackpot mechanic that would make it more enticing. The cargo loot is more of an inconvenience as it currently stands…
