As someone who really likes this mechanic, it’s sad to see the current state of meta whereby almost every top deck is non devotion, and it’s been this way for most of this year. As a devotion player, when queuing up against a non-devo deck, you feel at such an insane disadvantage, at this point it feels like the deck restrictions for cards like Renfri or Golden Nekker, are less impactful than the restriction for devotion due to the increasing power/importance of neutral cards.

Back when devotion was introduced, cards like Kerrack Marine (a 7 for 4 with devotion) were seen as strong and above the curve and so it made sense to be restricted to devotion; nowadays, 4p cards as a standard tend to play for 7 points. Again, cards like Spotter play for double their provs and are better than any devotion bronze card (and even some golds lmao), and there are many more examples.

I feel to encourage devotion more, firstly, there needs to be more cards that have the keyword, as opposed to one/two archetypes that are basically forced into playing it. I’d love if a whole load of existing cards across a variety of decks got an extra point or removed condition from their ability just for playing devotion, so that they’re still playable in their current form but get that little boost If you decide to cut neutrals. The other thing I’d like to see are provision/point buffs to leaders when you play devotion too (E.g an extra charge)

What’s everyone’s thoughts on the mechanic? Surely I’m not alone here.
