Hi! I have been thinking about colored Directional mini map Icons VS Hero Icons and which is better to use. I can't make up my mind and wanted to see what other people think and prefer.
On one hand the colored Directional Icons provide the advantage of letting players know exactly which direction the other players are going. However, I have found it difficult to remember the colours of all the heroes and thus I end up pressing alt. In normal situations this isn't a problem but if I have to make an instant decision to TP in then pressing alt to see which heroes are there can be an expensive time time. Any advice on how to memorize the hero colours better? I really do like being able to know the direction of other players.
Hero Icons provide the advantage of provide better map awareness for those that struggle to memorize Hero colours. However, we lose Directional info when using this method. The Hero Icons also take up more space on the mini map even if you enable dynamic icon scaling.
I personal prefer to use Colored Directional Icons but struggle with memorizing the colours ðŸ˜
