Culinary Recipes and You – How to unlock “Odyssey engineer Rosa” just a little bit faster

So, after slogging through this horrible engineer requirement myself, and seeing very little info out there, I've added together what I found after I snagged my 10 recipes. I also figured out what I was doing wrong, and how to do it right. If you're looking for Culinary Recipes and Cocktail Recipes to unlock Rosa, this is the post for you.

If you read nothing else on this post, read this: Sell in Colonia SYSTEM, not REGION. That means Ratraii is no good. I screwed this up and had to grind it twice.

If you only read two things, read this: E-Breaches. Did I mention they automatically get added to your inventory here and that they're illegal? Make sure you don't get scanned, and if you do – just run, take off to supercruise and start over. Don't bother clearing your inventory each time, unless you're going to destroy all of them from your ship's hold.

Where to get them: LOS System planets (Moons?) A1A and A1B. Good news: they're right near Colonia. You'll see a bar and 4 HAB buildings pretty close to each other, the bar doesn't require any ID, but the HABs require SEC auth level1 and are off-limits to visitors, so you'll have to bypass the door (ID or MAV suit) then sneak to the terminal once you're in. Luckily the Bar will have 2-3 L1's and sometimes an L2 that you can discretely clone by hugging the pillars. Also luckily, the patrols are super basic and there's only a couple actual guards, the rest are only pilots and won't check your ID. They WILL get upset if they see you in the HAB buildings

How:

  1. Don't land on the pad / autodock, manually land near the bar. This will save you a bunch of time. The only time you should land on the pad is to repair your ship (maybe pay off fines).
  2. Don't go to the 5th HAB across the bridge unless you have L2 AND landed on a pad. Again, wasted time. If you DO – only check the rooms straight ahead (both floors), the left and right side don't have data.
  3. Don't download illegal data. It triggers the alarm basically every time and the data isn't worth the hassle.
  4. Go to the bar first, check the data pad, steal an ID
  5. Jump between buildings to avoid the incredibly unlikely scan from the patrolling guard
  6. there's usually a pilot who camps in each HAB, with one empty. Seems to be random
  7. Once you've collected your recipes and hopped back aboard your ship, take off: Supercruise then immediately drop and fly back to land and start again. You don't have to reach orbit.
  8. If your game crashes or you log out, you must supercruise again or the terminals will be empty.
  9. You can mix and match – I tested this out and sold 2 Culinary, 8 Cocktail to unlock
