Hey all,
Let me start by saying I'm 34 and mostly play socially with a bunch of mates between 28-45.
One of the older lads who we don't play with so much invited their cousin probably mid 40's also who then invited their son around 14 to discord.
As time went on the kid got better and is now the highest ranking member amongst the group, and started narrating every game and offering unsolicited advice in games he was spectating (To be fair this isn't that uncommon amongst out friend group but if you can't read the room, best to abstain).
The result was that when he came on, my discord server became a ghost town.
The easiest option is to remove him from our discord but the kid is genuinely good and has a love for the game and improving, he's gone from herald playing with his dad to Legend 5 in a matter or months and if he had a community with a like minded community he might be able to do some genuinely cool things in Dota.
The Ask:
Are there many communities around that nurture a serious and competitive nature to Dota (Australia or possibly SEA)?
