Imagine if you will, gentle reader:
A large planetary outpost, decked out for a race. Commanders milling about the bar, perfect view of the finish line and key points of the course marked in the port perimeters below.
Several hover racers (or SRVs or whatever, I don't even care) waiting impatiently at the starting line, all the manufacturers represented — Gutamaya… the others; I've heard there's more than Gutamaya but never really got around to confirming all that.
The countdown begins. 3… 2… 1…
And they're off. But a regular race is boring. Let's weaponize these bad boys. The item pad lights up, fourth in line picks up, oh, I don't know — let's say a trajectory disruptor.
Boom goes third, careening into second.
The race for second place is on (or third or fourth or whatever, depending on how many clearly superior Gutamaya entries are running) and it's pretty much anyone's game depending on what pops up along the track. Is it a shield boost? Speed? Plasma shotgun? Who knows?!
Place your bets, well-dressed reader. It's race day.
