I'm not talking about the decks you *could* create, because there is a lot of variety there, but the decks you will face in ranked (or practice as there really isn't a difference at this point), which are almost entirely control based today
For a while I thought that creating some new decks and homebrews would help me circumvent this problem but it doesn't really matter which deck you choose to play yourself when every game boils down to watching your gold cards get removed or used against you, only better, decks that rely upon building upon their own cards and strategy are sarcastically called "solitaire", which in other card games is usually considered the norm
I understand that competitive games will develop a meta over time and many games suffer from the same issue but I feel like in gwent this is *considerably* worse, I used to play MTGA when the ladder was infested with Esper and it wasn't nearly as bad, not even close
So idk, what is your take on this? Is this the direction of the game and we should all make way for it, or is there some salvation for people who don't enjoy this type of gameplay
