I've been playing for 10 years and lately over the last 3 months I've deleted the game and reinstalled it about 5 times. The most recent being an hour ago where I decide I miss dota after a few weeks and install it again and load up my first ranked game in a while.
I pick offlane sladar with IO as support, five mins into the game IO is off on his own farming creeps in jungle and calling me an idiot for not doing exactly what he wants me to do while I face a lane of 2 struggling to the last hit and deny and die a few times. Even though I'm almost grandmaster sladar and this IO has almost zero games as IO…
I sit back and think to myself once again, why do I put myself through the torture of this fucking game and decide that this really isn't good for my mental help, so I abandon on the spot and uninstall dota once more. It feels out of pure spite at this point, a teammate isn't going to work with me to win the match, WHY FUCKING BOTHER? I know its unfair to the others in the match, but its like over the years my patience for bullshit has been grinded down to nothing and I get triggered easily with other dota players playing ranked games and just basically throw away a win on purpose.
There is something extremely toxic about the gameplay and people in dota and while I love it, I absolutely despise it at times because i just want to play a match with people who actually want to try to work together and win.
How can Value work on improving this aspect in dota? Or is it just a default worst of humanity in any MOBA game? How does LOL prevent this kind of behavior?
