I’m a long time dota 2 player since 2012 when the beta released.
Idk what’s been changing lately but the game just… doesn’t seem as fun as it used to be.
Maybe it’s just me getting older or maybe it’s just me getting bored of it I’m not sure.
Hour long matches are just too much in this age. Turbo is fun but not competitive so it doesn’t scratch the same itch.
The player base is large but mostly stagnant, trending towards decline.
This means that most of the player base are highly skilled which throws the mmr averages/ranks off quite a bit.
A truly new player would probably not even hit guardian without many months of practice.
The time commitment/payoff for winning and for ranks is absolutely abysmal.
The heroes feel fun but a bit dated.
None of the heroes do something truly unique that we haven’t seen already.
I think mostly what I’m tired of is the time commitment compared to other popular games.
Each match of dota takes the better part of an hour and you can’t forfeit before it’s officially over. It also takes a part time job level of commitment to stay current and competitive at least.
Compare that with other popular esports and the time commitment isn’t nearly as high.
Just a bit sad because I loved dota 2. But I kind of feel like I’m slowly just…over it.
Not being able to craft them sucks. Especially when everyone I talk to about it…
First I'd like to say I absolutely love this game it's quality. Basically I first…
