I am trying to play though the Mistlands without having to fight the little guys. I like them a lot, and they create a lived-in feeling in the biome, which was lacking from the other parts of the game. But even though I'm not touching them myself, the constant respawns of seekers and gjalls finish them off one by one. Even the base defenses (stakes) break down too easily by accidental rabbits running into them (and sometimes the dvergrs themselves). And while I'm simply roaming about, the bases get overridden one by one too soon. Now, I don't mind an occasional free soft tissue or extractor from them, but I would prefer them to live. It doesn't feel fair that the monsters respawn and keep attacking, while the dvergr keep dying. And I cannot help them out a lot or all the time, and I cannot even help with base defenses because of the totem.
So, here's an idea, that while the place is under the totem protection, the game should respawn and maintain the same number of dvergr at that location (maybe with a 20 min timeout or so). Also, we could use a builder dvergr going around and restoring defenses, but that may be not so easy to implement as a simple respawn.
Agree/disagree?
