I just stumbled upon this tech demo of a unity plug-in.

Imagine getting into a raid and over the next 30ish minutes the maps gets a thicker and ticker coat of snow

Maps would be more silent, and visibility could go from a Cristal clear blue sky to the most horrible snow blizzard where you see and hear nothing over the wind.

Gameplay wise the movements would be slower and energy depletion from the keeping warm would make house hoping more stressful ( like we needed more ).

Equipment wise you would have interest of bringing warm and white clothes so that you don't lose warmth outside the buildings. ( Inspiration could come from the likes of COH2 )
