I am trying to determine the right economical course of action to maintain a decent gaming rig for Current First Person shooters – Escape from Tarkov and some future allowance for hardware demanding games.
Current rig:
I7 9700k with Gigabyte H370 HD3
Evga Gtx 1070 8gb SC
2×8 -16 Gb Patriot elite 2666 mhz ram
Ocz mod extreme 600w psu ( 8-9 years old)
Corsair 750D ATX Full Tower
1080p 144hz monitor Acer XB240h
I just recently made a black Friday mistake and purchased 32 Gb of 3600mhz ram @ $170. Only to realize my H370 only supports up to 2666mhz ( Previous ram) and its made me ponder my future builds, and here lies my request for insight.
My goal is to play 1080p at ~144fps in any title with optimized settings. I cannot currently do this on my favorite game Escape from Tarkov @ 60-75fps average (90-100 would be ideal)
Budget $400-800 CAD Prices – Therefore my thoughts are one of the following:
I cant figure out where/what to upgrade or update components, other then PSU. I keep spiraling off with thoughts of a larger swap out or rebuild would be worth the money versus tacking on things to my old Mobo. Let me know what you would change if you had this build, some holiday bonus $$ ($500 Cad) and wanted to play Tarkov / new shooters at 110-140 Fps?
FYI highly consider used components as options for upgrading, I think I've only ever bought my most recent RAM new and Monitor.
Discussion appreciated
