I think most of us agree that the start of the wipe is the best/most fun time in the game. Why is this?
· Players are using a wide array of guns/gear
· There is an economy for low level items not just top tier/meta items
· The global limit set items are easier to get as not everyone can afford them like later in the wipe currently
How do we prolong this?
I believe we can by having a prestige system in place. The following is an example of what something like this could look like.
Let me preface with this: Any of these level limits, trader levels, etc. should be balanced and what I have come up with is just an example. The point of my post is to start a discussion around this topic and see what the player base thinks/likes/hates etc. about the idea.
Overview:
A player levels up by gaining XP. Once certain levels are hit it unlocks new trader levels, hideout levels, and max skill levels. *see Prestige level 1*
When a player reaches level 51, he/she is reset to level 1. They retain skills earned. Money, level, hideout, and stash is reset to what you started with in the respective version of the game.
The player then begins at 2nd Prestige Level – Level 1. In this playthrough they start with level 2 traders, and all level 2 hideout upgrades unlocked for purchase. *see Prestige Level 2
At level 51, he/she is reset again to level 1. They now begin at 3rd Prestige Level – Level 1. In this playthrough they start with level 3 traders and all hideout upgrades unlocked for purchase. *see Prestige Level 3
At this point, the player can level past level 51 and there are no resets/additional prestige levels.
Prestige Level 1
Levels 1-19 | Trader level 1 | All level 1 hideout upgrades unlocked | Max skill allowance: Level 20 |
---|---|---|---|
Levels 20-29 | Trader level 2 | All level 2 hideout upgrades unlocked | Max skill allowance: Level 30 |
Levels 30-40 | Trader level 3 | All hideout upgrades unlocked | Max skill allowance: Level 40 |
Levels 40-50 | Max trader levels | All hideout upgrades unlocked | Max skill allowance: 51 |
Prestige Level 2
Levels 1-19 | .Trader level 2 | All level 2 hideout upgrades unlocked |
---|---|---|
Levels 20-29 | Trader level 3 | All Hideout upgrades unlocked |
Levels 30-40 | Max Traders | All hideout upgrades unlocked |
Levels 40-50 | Max Traders | All hideout upgrades unlocked |
Prestige Level 3
Levels 1-19 | Trader level 3 | All hideout upgrades unlocked |
---|---|---|
Levels 20-29 | Max Traders | All hideout upgrades unlocked |
Levels 30-40 | Max Traders | All hideout upgrades unlocked |
Levels 40-50 | Max Traders | All hideout upgrades unlocked |
Why do I think this is good?
Now…obviously this would require a full overhaul on xp earned, available trader items(planned already), and balancing within the game.
I feel this works for all types of players.
Casual players will enjoy playing at any point in the wipe because there will always be lower level gear throughout the wipe and not just sweaties everywhere after the first month. The casual can feel like they are progressing far into the game still with the upgrades/items available at max traders and can hang with the non-causal player base.
Streamer type players/non casual players will enjoy it because they wont be burnt out using the same gear every raid after the first month and actually have something to keep them engaged and not the same old game after reaching 40. Prestige levels also come with just that…Prestige. In addition, the content available for streamers would be opened up as late into the wipe they just PVP in the same old gear. This allows for them to have more of a diverse stream and maintain that stream late into the wipe as, in my opinion, that is when it gets boring/stagnates.
Now to the point of my post:
What do you think of this? What are the good things? What are the bad things? I’m obviously biased towards this idea so I’d love to hear what I’m not seeing/thinking of and how this could affect the game in a negative way.
I love this game. I want it to succeed. Thank you BSG and Nikita for such an amazing, rage inducing, addicting, and fun game. And lastly, if you’ve read through this post to this point, I’d just like to thank you for taking the time.
Not being able to craft them sucks. Especially when everyone I talk to about it…
