I'm gonna approach this through comparing elf token against firesworn token because basically they are the same now.
Both tokens can be used to boost certain units (fallen knight and eternal fire priest for firesworn and oak for elf for example).
Both tokens can also be used to prepare the arrival for other units. Elf tokens can be called to supplement the autosummon of aelirenn and firesworn tokens can be called to ensure you get the full power of procession of penance when it gets dropped on board.
But as you can see, even though procession of penance looks scary (omg 12 power mid provision card!) but it is actually way worse compared to aelirenn.
Aelirenn doesn't need a turn, you leave her in deck and she will jump when there is 5 elves (not just token) on board meanwhile procession of penance require you to spend a turn on board.
This turn requirement is problematic since the firesworn token is really flimsy with only 2 power, compare that to elf token which has 3 power.
Firesworn token swarm can be punished in 1 turn through lacerate or sabrina or tinboy meanwhile you have to spend 2 turns at least to row punish them completely.
This shows how OP current elf token is.
Sure ekimara token is 3 power but the presence of ekimara doesn't synergy to any monster cards as far as I know meanwhile these elf tokens work with many things in ST deck.
Token unit shouldn't need 2 turns to get completely row punished when they come in swarm. They definitely should offer 1 turn benefit (like summoning all tokens and drop gezras or oak or otherd) but the opponent should be allowed to answer the presence of those tokens in 1 turn as well.
For example, you put vernossiel back row, giving you 3 units, opponent answer that with lacerate and next turn if you still have full ability you will have 6 units ready to boost a unit by 6 (oak), damage unit by 6 or 7 (oak/that elf thingy), or get boosted altogether through that 4 power elf thingy or through gezras.
The potential point swing is 11 (5+3+3) – 6 + 13 = 18 at minimum.
Compare that to firesworn. You drop sacred flame, you have 2 units. Opponent answer that with lacerate and next turn you will only have 3 units that will benefit from the sacred flame (and + dies irae for example).
The potential point swing is 4 – 4 + 6 + 3 + 3 = 12 at minimum.
6 point difference is really big. That even doesn't consider the possibility of feeding engine like gezras.
Therefore, I think it will be proper for elf token to get nerfed into 2 power.
Not being able to craft them sucks. Especially when everyone I talk to about it…
