Evening all.

I love Elite Dangerous, but for many years my main focus in gaming was on the Halo games, in a style of clan play called military clans. For context, you can draw comparisons between this and ‘milsim’ groups, with less seriousness in their style of play while still maintaining a semi-disciplined and tactics based approach to playing in a large group. This type of clan made me lots of friends on Halo and is still today one of the largest styles of group play across the series.

With this in mind, on to my question.

Have you seen many groups around elite dangerous with this thematic style/approach to gameplay? If so, what are they like?

Do you think the release of Odyssey will see an increase in military clans? Or will there be no increase at all?

Lastly, do you think you’d ever join such a group? Does the idea of a military clan appeal to you or do you play Elite to avoid that sort of thing?

Feel free to say as much or as little as you’d like, no matter your veterancy. It’s a broad topic for discussion, and i’m curious as to the general consensus of this player-base towards such clans.
