I used to consider myself an active part of the Gwent community. I visited this subreddit nearly daily and I played the game on a daily basis too, even if just for a bit sometimes. Yet, lately, the game seems to be becoming more and more stale. Each new month introduces just a few changes that change some things here and there but that, in my opinion, don't really shake the game. To give an exemple with the last month: elves are now great, no doubt there, but White Frost is still mediocre, and so is Firesworn. Also, I see were they were coming from with their changes to the thinning cards, but that has made many decks much more inconsistent in my opinion, and therefore more draw dependent (which is not necessarily bad, but it isn't a good thing either).
Moreover, the support of well know and influential Gwent players has also seen a significant drop. First it was Trynet; then Tailbot "retired"; and now Bushy is taking a long break (and I can't really blame him). This, in my opinion, is indicative of the games staleness, and I fear for the future of Gwent. I don't mean to say that "Gwent is dead" (I always queue in fast against other people, there are still tons of players out there), but I feel like the quality of the game has significantly dropped and I fear that, eventually, the toll it will take on the game will became larger and larger.
