On day 131 of my playthrough, I fought Moder for the first time. I was rather disappointed with how easy it was. I prepared myself with ~200 fire arrows, maxed out silver armor and draugr bow, and thought it would be quite an epic showdown. What it turned into was mostly Moder flying/walking around while I shot at it.
Now just to be clear, it hit VERY hard when it actually did hit me. But I found it incredibly easy to strafe it's attacks. And, most of the time, Moder did not even attack back, but simply landed for awhile, spun around while I shot at it, and then took off for a few ice breaths before landing again. It just felt like the AI for Moder wasn't being very aggressive or even acknowledging me at times. The only part about the fight that scared me was when 3 wolves came up behind me.
Compared to the Elder and Bonemass, this fight felt very subpar. It was very difficult to dodge the Edler's attacks, and took a lot of clutch plays to close in and get some good axe hits in. And Bonemass, my god Bonemass was terrifying to fight, being all wet and having mobs spawn all around you. Moder, on the other hand, felt like a mob with a lot of health rather than a boss fight. It honestly felt easier than my first fight with Eikthyr.
Obviously I'm glad that I beat Moder and can move on to the plains biome, but I was hoping for a more rewarding fight. How do others feels about it? Maybe I got (un)lucky with a bad AI?
