Title question is incredibly strange but I'll elaborate. I put hundreds of hours into NMS, and the entire journey up until the point where I had nothing else to do was excellent. Finding new ways to manufacture better trade items, discovering better planets to build bases on, finally finding a ship that clicked, and even finding a player by some miracle in the middle of nowhere. It was my first space adventure game and it was absolute blast, but at its core everything felt pretty simple and one dimensional, and it got even worse once I finished the game (literally no multiplayer community outside of roleplay because of the way the game works).
I have a HOTAS, top end rig, and a VR headset so trying out Elite was a no brainer after a while. I'm only still in the starting area so I really haven't seen much all things considered but I can tell there's potential for me to really put some time in. My question is what's the best way to go about working through the game while still having fun? I'm not looking to make as much money as fast as possible, but I want to enjoy my time going through the grind similar to what I did going through NMS. My only short term goals are to buy a Keelback and start deep core mining but any beginner advice on how to really get the most enjoyment through my journey in Elite would be much appreciated.
