Remember those experimental weapons that came out a handful of years ago? Namely the shock cannon. Ive got a few of them unlocked. There such a cool concept, but overshadowed by everything else.
I would love if:
We slapped some more ammo capacity in them. And/or brought the synth cost somewhere in line with normal weapons. Theyve been out a while. Im sure someone in the galaxy has made them less experimental and more mainstream. Also, their description says energy projectile. So maybe 50/50 thermal/kinetic damage pls? Im not even gunna be greedy and ask for engineering. They are such a unique weapon in the game, and i think having them split the damage type would put them in a niche spot between multicannons and lasers. It would still separate them from plasma weapons with their absolute damage and penetration, and theyd lack the module sniping/feedback cascade qualities of the railgun that also splits damage.
Also. Torpedoes. Bump that base speed up to 350/mps. I feel like that gives them a chance to actually catch any vessel unwise enough to slow down, and larger slower vessels still have the utility slots for point defense or to tank the hit. I want to use torpedoes. It just doesnt make sense too.
Also also. Flechette launcher. Havent even used it. Alls i hear is its pointless. Anybody have suggestions for that one?
