hello tarkovers. I’m writing this post today to hopefully get a better understanding of the cheater problem, hear you 2 cents, give my 2 cents, and hope that some good ideas come out of this, and maybe bsg will see this.

I'll give some context here. I started playing last wipe about half way through, and I've played since a few weeks into this wipe. I have 200~ hours, and I'm dog shit at the game, but less so now than I was last wipe lol. Regardless, I have a lot of fun.

Now, the cheating issue.

Im still a relative noob to the game, so I don't have as much experience as the majority of the player base. So id like to ask, is there any surefire way to tell if you got killed by a cheater? A lot of the time when I die, I don't even see the guy, so I'm thinking ok is it an invisible guy, a guy that's 100 meters away with good aim, or a guy that's 100 meters away with aimbot? So I have no idea how it's at all possible for people on this sub to KNOW without a shadow of a doubt that they were killed by a cheater. Yet a large amount of posts on this sub talk about getting killed by cheaters, and how there's 2-3 cheaters in 90% of the raids. How can you possibly know that.. I'm genuinely curious.

Now, how I think the situation can be resolved: just give us the fkcin replays. I understand that having replays or a killcam function would cause unfair advantages for players that are teamed up with one another because you could just check the killcam and tell your friends exactly where the dudes at. I don't want that. Why not just give us a raid replay as soon as the raid ends? If we had something like the halo3 theatre to where we controlled an essentially "flying camera", it would be extremely easy to sus out cheaters.

I understand tarkov is a heavy cpu/ram game because of all the physics calculation bullshit going on, and that all of those things would technically also be recorded, and they may not have the resources to do something like what I mentioned in the previous paragraph. If that's too much for this game which is held together by cardboard and duct tape, then, do the same thing, give us a halo 3 style flying camera, but just have them recording ignore all of the bullets and impact shit.

Hell, if that's too taxing for servers, at the very least, just give me the first person perspective of the guy that killed me starting at 30 seconds before he kills me. I could watch, and see if there's aimbot, or if it looks like he's tracking me through a wall, and I report them.

If bsg implemented this, and half the non cheating playerbase used it whenever they feel sus about a death, and proceeded to report these cheaters, and bsg has the "killcam" clip, the cheater problem would probably be solved with that plus whatever else bsg is already doing.

This is the perfect game to cheat on because of the nature of the game itself, and cheaters knows that. I would be willing to watch replays and help bsg out.
