I am around 170 hours into the game, but most of that time has been spent doing space trucking, mining and running around trying to unlock engineers. I am still working on that last one, but I have a lot of credits and materials in the bank. I want to get into bounty hunting and conflict zones, and I have seen people suggest using Vulture to learn the basics of combats.
I went and gotten myself a Vulture, and even engineered it a little to increase my reputation with the engineers. Here's what I have so far. https://s.orbis.zone/d2b8
I have a couple questions about how to proceed. First, is fixed beam laser + corrosive overcharged multi-cannon is a good weapon combo for the Vulture? If it is, what should the engineering be on the laser. I already have the multi-cannon engineered and am waiting to unlock power distributor and laser engineers to switch to beam laser from pulse.
Second, most builds I have seen online use a 4D FSD, but I already engineered a 4A one to the max, with long range and mass manager. Will this be a big problem for me?
Third, bi-weave shield or prismatic? I don't have prismatics yet but I'll have it unlocked in a week or two. To me, prismatics seem easier to use, but they are a lot more power hungry especially if I add in a shield cell bank as well. That means I'll need to go with an overcharged power plant and sacrifice it's integrity. But I don't know how big of a deal this is.
Also a bonus question, is there any way to make gimballed multi-cannon toggle to fire? Instead of needing to hold the button?
Not being able to craft them sucks. Especially when everyone I talk to about it…
