Here come the downvotes; why the toxicity towards the console questions?

I am not trying to start something here. I am trying to have a productive discussion and encourage a better gaming community.

EFT has gotten a lot of attention recently which has brought about the revival of questions from console players about if the game will be ported to the next gen console. This makes total sense; exposure gets more people to see it, many like what they see and console players think it looks fun. They'd love to play, so they ask for info or just thoughts.

Every one of the posts about this are downvoted to hell and the comments are very toxic. Not all, but many.

Now, I am not talking about people saying it won't come to console. That's just someones answer; their guess. And it would be very hard to port it. Porting is already not easy when a game isn't designed with consoles in mind from the beginning and with all the key bindings, loot Tetris, etc that comes with Tarkov, getting it to work on a controller would be extremely hard. It would take some serious creativity and possibly game alteration to find a way to make it work. So if someone thinks it won't happen there's a good chance they are right.
But that doesn't mean it doesn't make sense to wonder about it. There are games from the past that seemed only to fit PC but they found a way to make them work on console. And the next gen consoles will be quite powerful and any game that sells only to console or only to PC is leaving out a huge market of buyers. There's a lot of money to be made in the console market.
So while it may never happen I guarantee the people at BattleState Games are having serious conversations about it. And those conversations might end with "no," "Maybe, but how?," "Maybe someday," "We don't have the resources," "We don't know how to interface a controller with the loot menus," "Now isn't the time," etc. But I can guarantee you that the idea hasn't been dismissed out of hand. If it doesn't happen it will not happen after serious consideration.

So why the aggression towards the console players just asking for info and having a conversation? It's a legit subject and they just see a game that looks fun and want to play. Who are they hurting? If Tarkov came to console it wouldn't steal away the PC player base or ruin the existing game in any way. It wouldn't slow content or development because porting doesn't (or very rarely) happens if the studio doesn't have enough time and resources or doesn't outsource the job.

I really hope it isn't some PC vs. Console petty turf war. We should be well past that stuff by now. It's childish and goes nowhere. And people have various reasons for choosing the platform they play on, be it preference or restriction of some kind. It doesn't make someone more or less worthy because of what they play on.

So really, why the toxicity?

Mostly, please just be civil or don't engage. That doesn't mean you have to say "yes, it definitely will!" if you don't believe it. But you can say "no" politely and don't have to swarm someones innocent, and sometimes pretty well thought out question, with downvotes.
