HOT TAKE: Dolphin Could Be Made To Be The Best Small-Sized Explorer Out-Playing Diamond Back Explorer In Key Areas , here’s why!

I love Both Ships , DBX Was My first try ship , i loved it , took it to Sag a* and back when i got it , only original ship i still have. but the dolphin took me from colonia to beagle point here are the categories on their comparison, remember i love both of these ships and i am being honest and as factual as i can

here are the 2 builds i will be comparing both made for deep space exploration

https://s.orbis.zone/lznh ~ DBX

https://s.orbis.zone/lznl ~ Dolphin

Jump range – DBX is better by a long shot , no comparison here at all

Regular Speed – Dolphin With 364 m/s to boost 509 m/s compared to DBX,s 352 m/s to 460 m/s

Turning and Braking Speed – Both Are Really good at stopping and turning , no one wins

Internals – Dolphin wins by miles with 2srvs 2afmu and functioning repair kit (which is effective ive tested it) with a 4a fuelscoop instead of a 5a could cause an issue but the dolphin don't over heat and surprisingly recovers quickly! but the 4a fuelscoop on the diamond back gets annoying after 200 jumps , synthesis will need to be used to refill these afmu but basic synthesis ironically refills a 3a to max.

Cockpit – Diamond Back Wins with overall a better view and looking cockpit and the dolphins is ok nothing to hate nor love

Overall Looks – this one is hard because these ships both look amazing in their own ways so i am giving nobody a point here

Heat In General – Both Are Amazing in this category but dolphin does not overheat i don't think ive not had time try it out

Cost – Dolphin is cheaper in this build being at a 16million investment in total and the diamondback being 17.5 million investment (these are for the builds for deep space)

Early Game Use – DBX wins 100% due to the fact that it gets a good jump range without engineering and can be used to boost your new commanders because it is quicker in the early game than dolphin , i would recommend going into guardian sites with a dbx to get the fsd and use it to engineer you exploration commander like i did

Engineering – DBX wins due to having a more simple grind

Here Is The Tally

Dolphin – 4

DBX – 4

As you can see they are Evenly matched because They Are Built for 2 different purposes, ones a luxury cruise liner with the 2nd largest cargo capacity for a small sized ships and the other one i believe was made to be a fast travel ship for military scouting uses, not quite sure

why did i make this? 2 reasons

Its main weakness with regard to exploration is its low number of internal compartments, which leaves less room for staple exploration modules such as a Fuel Scoop, Guardian Frame Shift Drive Booster, Auto Field-Maintenance Unit, and Planetary Vehicle Hangar. Pilots who wish to embark on long-term expeditions may want to consider upgrading to a more spacious vessel ,

this from https://elite-dangerous.fandom.com/wiki/Dolphin because its lying as seen from my build

and Yamiks (I don't hate yamiks he is amazing and makes me laugh) but I don't think dolphin is "dogshit tier ship" more "1-use"

Who else asked? nobody , nobody cares , neither do i , fly safe commanders!
