Speaking of this big sale going on, we buy skins for our ships and we really only see them in the outfitting screen unless we go out of our way to go into the free camera to look around them.
I would be more interested and have more desire to buy paint jobs if I could actually play the game in 3rd person.
A couple thoughts about this:
HUD could be limited, display less information than 1st person
Could be an extra module you have to equip so you have to sacrifice something to use 3rd person. Could be a Camera Limpet perhaps?
Could be limited to Solo or Private Group as to not give an advantage in PvP in Open
A possible solution to this, could be to add in the ability to have an NPC join your ship even if you don't have a fighter bay, and they could pilot the ship while you use the Gunner Seat. This could also be too OP for Open.
I think this could be a "just for fun" addition that has the potential to increase the revenue for FDEV.
