How do you guys prefer to upgrade your armour/weapons?

I'm all about saving resources and being efficient/lazy, depending on how you see it.

Personally, I like to just use that initial rag tunic until I get troll hide. Troll pants and hood first since you already have that shirt, which only gives 1 armour, but is better than 0. 1 armour can make the difference early game when you fight those weak enemies. I'll wear troll hide + bronze helm to the swamps, make a root mask ASAP, because then you can stop worrying about poison. For a while I ran iron armour with root or iron helm, root helm only in swamps and plains, until I could get more upgrades. From there the wolf armour is good for cold protection + armour. Then padded gear, of course. These days I use full padded armour, swapping to root helm when needed, and a wolf cloak because it looks nice and I like looking different to my mates on my server. I used to run padded armour but with a wolf torso for the cold resist, and a linen cape because sex appeal. Wolf pants DO NOT give cold resist, which is unfortunate because I like how they look with padded torso. In terms of silver usage, you get better value from making a lox cape as opposed to a wolf cape, since lox cape doesn't require silver for upgrades, only the initial item. If you can kill wolves, you can kill lox. Just be careful (lol)
How do you guys run it? Have any particular favorite armour set?

For weapons I go flint axe -> bronze axe -> iron mace -> silver sword. Iron mace for Bonemass, silver sword for Yagluth as he takes spirit damage. It's OP if you can get a sneak attack on him with a silver/crystal weapon too, as you can keep the extra spirit damage from the sneak attack ticking the whole fight as long as you keep applying it. After then all those other weapons are really just flavour. The devs made all the end-game weapons similar in strength, so that the players can play more class-based styles. Even the axe is balanced to be usable as a late-game weapon. It swings slower than a sword but does more damage per hit. In place of a special attack you get the ability to cut trees, so using an axe as your weapon can save an inventory slot, and is definitely viable.

The abyssal razor can be obtained relatively early. I had a leviathan spawn with bowshot distance of my starter island once, so you can potentially have the 2nd best knife in the game with you during bronze age. OP if doable. Though it is recommended you use an iron pick for the sea bois, in case they sink quickly, as each hit has (I think) about a 10% chance of triggering their sinking.

Thoughts? Roasts?
