I’ve spoken to a lot of people I used to play Tarkov with, and like myself, man of them played less and less with each wipe, as although there was exciting new content, there was also the same quests, the same grind, the same start, all over again.
Whilst the playerbase has grown, it’s also lost many of its players, and I think the repetition caused by wipes is a reason for this.
Hunt Showdown and Marauders both use a prestige system, meaning that a “wipe” is still possible, however it’s in the hands of the player, and therefore if a player wants to reset they can, but if they’ve not got as much time to play, or don’t want to do the same quests again, they can just stay high level.
What’s the playerbases’ general consensus on this. How long have you been playing, do you like wipes, and how do you feel on replacing wipes with a small reward-based prestige system?
For context, I love Tarkov, I played ~2000 hours from launch up until about 1.5 years ago, and haven’t really played since.
