Hello everyone,
my mind came up with a question. So I would like to know how familiar you are with the Witcher lore and everything. Or how much did you guys know when you started Gwent.
In my case, Gwent was indeed my first contact to the whole Witcher world. Somehow I ran across this game on the internet and thought "a card game? Could be interesting for me as a casual player. Witcher? I know the games are great. Maybe this game is also good". So I gave it a try and fell in love with it immediately.
But in the beginning, I was so damn overwhelmed with all the cards and the characters. I didn't really know any characters to be honest. I knew who Geralt and Yennefer were. But I haven't even heard of Ciri before. And then I decided to read the books. Currently reading "Lady of the Lake". So almost through with the main story. I also started to play Thronebreaker. I hope I can play Witcher 3 as well sometimes.
I guess that I'm a special case. I don't think that there are many people who start playing Gwent without knowing anything about the Witcher world. So how much did you know when you started to play Gwent and did Gwent increase your interest so that you started to read/play more Witcher related stuff? I expect that most people came across Gwent through Witcher 3. But I would like to read your stories.
I hope you like this kind of discussion. It's not really game related. But maybe it's a nice little variety to the general "meta sucks threads" 😀
