With the rumors of PMC karma coming this wipe, and the possibility of significant economy rebalancing coming as well, I had a thought-
What if traders not only expected you to be good to THEM to get their best stuff, but you also have to prove yourself to be a capable PMC who has high respect from their peers/org, not just that you have enough exp.
Tasks can now give PMC karma as well as exp, and completing tasks for a given trader will eventually give enough karma for all possible unlocks, so ultimately players who play well will still be able to achieve the same thing.
This, depending on how it is balanced, could significantly extend the "early wipe", where it will now take much longer for most players to reach max level gear, while also rewarding playing more passively and cooperatively.
You can also maybe even have a mechanic where Fence sells more and more high-tier gear not only the better your rep gets with him, but also getting enough negative PMC karma opens a new tab on his shop for high level "stolen" gear.
What do you think? Does that seem like a feasible idea, if implemented?
