Well I just killed my first intercepter! Boy was it a tough fight (mostly cause my own stupidity)
I had every intention of taking on a intercepter and getting my first kill, but I needed to refuel so I went into a thargoid invasion system and went to a station under attack. My intention was to clear out some scouts, dock, refuel and repair, then get out to focus on one intercepter. Things went well but when I undocked after refueling a cyclops came in. I don’t know why I thought “I’ve got this”, but I did.
The battle took about 15 minutes. I took out three hearts and toughing out the force Lightning I was doing well. Everything changed the scout nation attacked. A ticked off cyclops and multiple scouts attacking made things a lot tougher. I went back to the station and docked three times to repair. Luckily the intercepter had the same thoughts I did. “This isn’t over”. As soon as I came back out we went right back at it. Eventually I finished him off and then killed the scouts. Docked and logged off.
Anyway that was my long story. As for the tips:
1. I was kind of backwards. Because I’m not great using FA off I used two guardian guass to exert the heart, the. Enhanced ax multi to shred the hearts.
2. I’m playing on steam deck so I mapped three of the back paddles to heat sinks, target next subtarget and SFN.
3. Don’t go to a station. Find a NHSS to do your first battle.
