I've played Tarkov a lot over the last year or so, mostly concentrated a few weeks before the latest wipe and all the time after. I have over 400 hours in this game. I love it to bits. But I can count on two hands the number of times I've loaded into a raid with the intention of engaging in PvP combat.
I love this game for it's reliance on map knowledge for spawns, loot and enemies alike, and love figuring out how to make money from looting it up. I'm a rat to the core you could say. I prefer avoiding fights, trying to sneak around and get away without a trace. It gives me such a rush of adrenaline being in those situations. However, whenever I load in, intending to try and PvP, I hate it. I'm not a fan of competitive FPS, I prefer looter shooters like Borderlands. Tarkov is like the most adrenaline filled looter shooter to me, and other players serve to up the tension and difficulty of getting in and out with my pockets lined.
Also to be clear, I don't only do hatchet runs, I still take in gear but it's mostly for scavs or if I have to fight, it's never anything fancy though.
The whole point of this ramble is basically, am I alone in this? Are there other people who enjoy this game like I do, or am I just an outlier who somehow Stockholmed themselves into liking Tarkov despite disliking PvP FPS games? I'm supremely curious, if anyone wants to share their thoughts.
